FUNCTION 

Goodyear is a high-rise residence hall that has lounges on every floor, kitchenettes and laundry facilities, as well as recreational facilities for students. It continued UB's movement towards becoming a true residential college.

NAMESAKE 

Ella Conger GoodyearElla Conger Goodyear (1853-1940) a strong supporter of the university, was well known for her philanthropy and interest in the arts. Her and her husband were close friends of President Grover Cleveland. Ella was the author of "Journey with Jesus". In 1912, she established the Charles W. Goodyear fund at the Albright Art Gallery in memory of her late husband. A frequent visitor to the White House during the Cleveland administration, Goodyear was a lifelong friend of Carolyn Tripp Clement. Among her many donations to the university was a unique collection of the famous actress Katherine Cornell's correspondence and memorabilia.
