Project Overview:
The new building will be about 166,000 GSF housing the School of Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Dean’s Office. It will be a 4 story structure reconstructed on the existing Acheson Halls concrete superstructure on the South Campus. First two floors of the building will consist of Classrooms, offices, lecture halls a new café space and the administrative department of the school of Pharmacy. The top two floors will consist of research space, labs and a supporting animal department for research associated with SOPPS. Shared spaces have been encouraged to allow for more public spaces throughout the building. This building will allow the school to grow its programs and increase the number of student trainees.
Current status:
The existing Acheson Hall has been demolished and the new construction has begun. The project is being managed by the State University Construction Fund (SUCF). The S/L/A/M Collaborative are the architects of record and Turner Construction is the construction manager. The plan is to complete construction in the winter / early spring of 2012 and have occupants move in the summer 2012.
