FUNCTION
Beck Hall originally served as the university bookstore. It is modeled on the Holland Land Company building in nearby Batavia, New York. The Holland Land Company was the original developer of the city of Buffalo in the first decade of the nineteenth century.
NAMESAKE
George A. Beck (1895-1975) a 1919 graduate of the medical school, was a faculty member for nearly 50 years, starting in 1921.
