FUNCTION

This historic structure forms the gateway to the University at Buffalo's downtown campus and the nearby Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.  Plans include occupancy by the Regional Institute, a number of pre-K-16 initiatives, and the Center on Rehabilitation Synergy, a Graduate School of Education program that supports professionals working with individuals with disabilities.

NAMESAKE

Home to the local clothing manufacturer, M. Wile Co., from 1924 to 1964, this example of a "daylight factory" is on the National Register of Historic Places. The property was eventually purchased in 2000 by developer Stephen McGarvey, who transformed it into office space as part of his Century Centre II renovations.
