Bloodborne Safety

Blood borne Pathogen Standard Compliance Tool (doc) - This document is to be used as a template for your workplace exposure control plan, but you must tailor it to the specific requirements of your department. This template contains all elements required by the blood borne pathogens standard, so you should not eliminate any items when converting it for your own use. Your written plan must be accessible to all employees, either on-line or in an area where they are available for review on all shifts. You can access the full text of this standard through the OSHA website  by using the alphabetical index (click on “B” for bloodborne pathogen standard).

This blood borne pathogen plan was developed by UB’s Environment, Health, and Safety Services Office in accordance with the OSHA Blood borne Pathogens Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1030, and is intended to be used by Departments, Labs, and Centers (DLC) as a template for their individual Plans. While there is much valuable information contained in this template, the key parts are unique to each DLC and need to be modified and regularly updated for the Plan to perform as intended. If you have any questions, please contact EHS at 829-3301.
