Energy Conservation Projects

The University is teaming up with New York Power Authority (NYPA) to implement an extensive energy conservation project at UB North, South and Downtown Campus facilities. Wendel Duchsherer, a local engineering firm, will be the lead contractor.  They will be responsible for supervising the project design, construction and commissioning.  The project is currently set to cost $9.6 million dollars. 

Project construction begins summer of 2008 and will take approximately 18 months to complete.

NORTH CAMPUS PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • central chiller plant work 
  • heat recovery project 

DOWNTOWN CAMPUS PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • air conditioning upgrades at the Research Institute on Addictions
  •  hot water heater replacements at several locations
